Different material or weave?

These particular ones (red/white stripes) appear to be made using different fibers/elastic or looser weave. When I opened the package you could see the difference when compared with the other ones I ordered. When stretched it didn’t go back …

I really like all the socks I have ordered … but this one was not typical.

White stripes are dingy grey. Not as advertised.
